A rental fireplace search in Canada usually ends at a local party house, a heated brick unit, or a retailer selling a branded electric fireplace. We rent cool-running vapour units and send them where the job is.
Some Toronto-area event-rental operators list brick and rock electric fireplaces that heat 400 to 1,000 square feet. Ours are water vapour and light. They do not cook the room, which is the first thing a hotel engineer or a strata manager asks.

The desk
Fires 4 Hire started in Vancouver in 2023 after a winter of hotel dinners where venues refused every real flame. Water-vapour units were the first fireplace a fire captain would sign off.
The crate program came next, when a Calgary planner asked whether the same units could land on a Thursday. They could. That is still the job: rent the fireplace, get it there, take it back.
We answer availability, talk to hotel engineering, and write the note you can forward to a client.
If a venue packet is going to be a problem, we would rather hear it on Tuesday than on the dock.
We size the crates, book the courier, and, in Vancouver, put the unit where the floor plan says it goes.
The 30 lb per 20 inches number is ours. So is the rule that freight is a real waybill, not a guess.

Use the form or email hello@fires4hire.com with city, dates, and how many units. Floor plan later if you have one. Give us the basics and we can help recommend the form factor and sizes if you want a second opinion.
Replies usually go out within one business day, same day if the date is inside two weeks. Rental and freight land in one note, with an actual courier number rather than a guess. You can forward it as-is. Nothing is held until you confirm.
Once you take the quote we send delivery window, crate count, power notes (standard outlet), and who signs on the dock. There is no portal and no onboarding call unless you want one. Vancouver jobs can include drop-off, placement, and pickup.
They plug in. When you are finished they go in the crate. On a straightforward national job we quote in a day, book freight to land ahead of your first date, and collect after the last night. Damage and late-return terms come in the quote so they are not a surprise on the invoice.

No. These units are water vapour and light. They are not space heaters. That is the point for ballrooms, condos, and summer tents that already have an HVAC plan.
If you specifically need heat, you want a different product — the heated brick rentals at a local event-rental shop, or an actual patio heater.
There is no combustion, no smoke, and no flue. People stand next to them. Most venues that ban candles and fire pits will allow these once they see the spec.
Send the venue packet early. If they still want a fire watch, we will say so in the quote rather than argue with the captain on the night.
A regular North American outlet. No dedicated circuit, no gas line, no water hookup. You refill a small reservoir with tap water when a unit runs long enough to need it.
If your site is a field or a park with no power, say that up front. Extension strategy is a site problem, not a fireplace problem.
They are indoor-first. A covered patio with power and no wind tearing the vapour can work. An open lawn in February is a patio-heater job.
Tell us the exact spot. We would rather decline a terrace than send a unit that looks like a fog machine in a cross-breeze.
A few weeks is comfortable. Peak wedding and holiday dates go earlier. We do not hold inventory off a first note, so a request in January for a June Saturday is useful even if the floor plan is not done.
Last-minute Vancouver jobs are sometimes possible because we can drive them. Last-minute freight to another province depends on the courier, not on optimism.
